WRITING ABOUT
HEALTH CARE
"He who has health, has hope; and he who has hope, has everything."
—Thomas Carlyle, Historian
When I began writing about health care in all its permutations — chronic conditions, prevention, hazards — I realized that I was just skimming the top of a topic that went much deeper and wider. Health care is yoga classes specially designed for anxious school children. It's a U.S.-based doctor who returns to an African village yearly in order to provide life-saving surgeries. It's a pediatric nurse specializing in young end-of-life patients. Health care is people at their best, and these make the best stories.
